It is not possible we laugh as much as we do.

Suz is in town for a why not, and this morning, so innocently, she said: “What are you doing for dinner tonight?” So of course come seven o’clock there was a salad chilling in the fridge, a tray of lasagna in the oven, the beginnings of a chocolate truffle tart, and Hens due any moment.

We laugh till we snort, we laugh till we cannot stand, we move from the kitchen table to the living room carpet and still we are laughing; silent, even, but laughing still.

The thing is, there are things to be happy about.

a+

oh my word ya it took forever to find them. i'd seen them at the urban outfitters up the street months ago, but it makes me sad to shop at urban outfitters here, because the prices are american, except in pounds, which is a little heart-breaking; anyway, so but they were at urban outfitters for some amount of money i didn't want to pay, and then yesterday i went to a kitchen-things store thinking: "you can only buy a salad spinner and a small flan dish", and i came out with a box of magnetic letters.

Salad spinner? What is? You sound like one of them kitchen gadget type girlies who would like to have egg slicers as Christmas gifts.

cour marly > eh! you said "hrr" !! that is a funny sound. eh ya onzi-r is our friend. did you listen to the show on sunday night? you should have said hello on the forum!!!! cheh!!! next time don't be shy lah!! :-)

tscd > eeeyur! um. i have an egg slicer. and i use it. HA HA HA. eh, aiyah, salad spinner la, you donch know meh? it is to spin salads to dry them after you wash the leaves! otherwise you have to dance around holding them in your hands, flinging off the excess water, and then pat them dry with paper towels. and then if maud is around (and there were those happy days when she was, often), she will laugh at you for being stupid and not having a salad spinner.

Salad spinners are our (best) friends. I just used mine last night!

Yah, Sunday night was the first show I listened to. It was excellent. I was already very sleepy, so just left the computer on with the music. Not awake enough to check out the forum. Nesstime lah.

saffron > YA! you have to fool those magnets into coming to you. also, is broadway centre the one with harris farms downstairs? because if still there are no magnets for ready money, you can at least go and drown your sorrows in yoghurt...

cour marly > eh ya come and play. you can ALWAYS sleep later...like at work. hahaha

I have never heard of a salad spinner before today. Now I know all you fancy-schmancy cooks get your salads dried down so efficiently.

I like to dance around the kitchen flailing salad leaves around. It is a game you play when friends come round, don't you know. Maybe this is why I never when to look for fancy salad tumble dryers. And also why the kitchen floor is always damp.

tym and tscd > i tell you lah, it is neither because of salad spinning nor of dances with salads that i have dry salad leaves. it is because up till now i have been buying those bags of mesclun or spinach that are already washed and Ready! To! Eat! Now!. but if i *had* a salad spinner, i could also buy some heads of butter lettuce, which never come in those pre-packaged bags. i like butter lettuce, because cute, but also, and i think i don't need to say this, because of the word "butter".

also, colour me quite surprised (that colour could be green, like a salad) that the salad spinner has generated *quite* as much commentary as it has. ha ha!
