Martin was sitting right by the door, blue shirt and big smile, when I walked up to Café Regular. He made me a cappuccino, tops, which I drank by the bar, daydreaming. Josh was telling me about the dogwoods in bloom on Fifth, and then two guys and a dog told me about “Umberto D.” I had a book, but life was more engaging.

I'm looking forward to my afternoon today, when I hope to do the same.
Mmm afternoons like this are win. And there was Bing Crosby in the air, and the sun was coming in the glass-paned doors like contentment and all things right...
there's a La Colombe in NY?? It's a philly thing! And MY Philly thing...hee hee. it's so gooood. do they make pretty hearts with the foam for you?
Eh, auntie! La Colombe is just the name of the coffee, no? At least it is here... the café is Café Regular, the best place to park your butt for hours on end, and listen to other people's conversations. No pretty hearts on the foam, but streaks like a Calder mobile...
hgggmmm...La Colombe is a cafe in Philly (also in Manayunk - saying that word is so fun) that has AWESOME coffee (and pretty heart shaped foam - if they like you...).They sell their coffees to top rated places, i think. so by logic, Cafe Regular must be top rated. www.lacolombe.com Their website is weird and freaks me out...
