After hemming and hawing for weeks, trying to decide if I want to get a new computer while I can still coax a student discount out of the Apple store, I realize I don’t actually have a thousand (or two) and something dollars to blow on a new toy. Plus, I like my little iBook anyway. Hence, the upgrades to Old Faithful. Three hundred fifty-six dollars and twenty-nine cents later, two hundred and fifty gigabytes of external hard drive are winging their way to Brooklyn, and I’m carrying home a slim silver packet of AirPort card in my Jack Gomme basket bag. Hot damn, this is almost better than new clothes. A little delicate operation, holding my breath and observing precautions for electrostatic discharge, and HOLY CRAP, I AM BLOGGING VIA SOMEONE ELSE’S WIRELESS CONNECTION AND THIS FEELS LIKE FLYING.

Wilkommen to the wireless WWW. I thought broadband was cool, but wireless just takes my breath away. Still.
When you're back in these parts, we'll go to Brewerkz one afternoon where there are $3 pints and free wireless and blog till we can't see straight, 'k?
Yah, wireless! AMAZING. I'm going to go sit at Café Regular sometime and see if the wireless there will give me some love. And the park, and the roof, and... and... um, that's it lah. I don't really have so much desire to carry my computer all over the place. :-p
Funny thing is, I can get online and surf, but I can't get Eudora to check e-mail. Like Eudora says it can't find the, um, provider or something? D'you know anything about this?
About Brewerkz--ummm suuure. You damn funny. I don't drink beer, though. Do they have raspberry-flavored fizzy sodas for me?
mmm. brewerkz. i didn't drink beer either. then, i started dating a guy who loves beer and only has beer. now i drink beer. you should do the same so we can all go to brewerkz. yes...
but a digress. the main reason i wanted to write was to say OH MY GAWD! Jack Gomme is awesome! i didn't know about this wonderful person and his products. funnily, her has more stores in japan than anywhere else. which is why i will move. for jack.

I like it when a shop says ... bags and accessories . Because you know that, the shop knows what its doing as a bag seller foremost. They make or break an outfit no?
Also wireless. It has meant that I don't have to pay for a phone connection, and I can blog from my backyard, under a gum tree. :)

also, yes, truly the people at jack gomme know what they are doing. i have been going into the store in nolita to try on the same bag every now and again for the last few months... and then i remember that i don't shop anymore. aaaaaa
oh, tym: this is in response to nothing that you've written. ha ha. just in case you were sitting around trying to figure out how to answer my eudora question--donch panic, i have worked it out my pretty little self. now that feels better than new clothes. :-)
I'm glad you've got your Eudora sorted out because I'm a web-based email girl and I haven't seen a Eudora screen in at least five years.
If kk confirms the deal, I will definitely go and learn how to buy 4D and then faster go and buy it right away.
