First there was the unpacked; then there was the half-unpacked, with things, like layabouts, all over the house; then there was the totally unpacked and neatly put away. Then there was pasta with artichoke hearts and tomatoes and lemon to celebrate, then there was lying on a blanket in the park, first reading, and then watching the clouds float by.

Dude, you've already unpacked?! From an entire summer away? It must have taken me, like, six weeks to unpack from just two weeks in France. (Wait--did I unpack . . . ?)
Oh, but it's so easy when alls you have is books, food, and so many dirty clothes. People mocked, oh how they mocked, when I said I wasn't shopping anymore, but truly the only purchases I came back with were comestibles and new clothes to replace old clothes. You were so right when you said the thing about how you know you've packed well when, at the end of the trip, you are just sick of all your clothes. Man, was I sick of my clothes.
